Baby and Toddler Group

Our friendly Baby & Toddler group is aimed at babies and young children up to the age of 3 years and their parents and carers.  Taking place every Thursday during term time from 10am until 12pm, the group provides opportunities to mix with other parents/carers, share experiences and make new friends whilst your children develop personal and social skills as they play alongside other children.

We welcome all members of the community, and are committed to equal opportunities.

Background

A well-established group, operating alongside the Preschool and managed by a committee of volunteers, consisting of a chairperson, treasurer, secretary and up to 9 other members, in line with our constitution. Our members are elected at our annual general meeting, which is open to everyone and usually held in October.

As a community-based voluntary managed group, we also depend on the good will of parents and carers and their involvement to keep going.

Refreshments

The admission price includes milk or water and a biscuit for the children. They sit down at a table and enjoy their snack together.  Tea and coffee for you is also included, and is served after snack time.

There is a washing up rota and your help is needed to ensure that refreshments can continue to be provided,

Fees

Our fees are based on the requirement to cover our overheads, and are therefore reviewed regularly. At present, they are as follows:

6 months and under: 50p

6-12 months: £2.00

Over 12 months: £2.50

Sibling: £1.00

Additional Parent/Carer: 50p each

Activities

We hope that both you and your child find taking part in our activities interesting and stimulating. We regularly provide a range of activities for you and your child to participate in, which include books and stories, painting, floor toys and cookery.

Admissions

We ask that you complete an enrolment form when you register with us, to enable us to contact you should the session be cancelled for any reason.

Health and safety

The welfare and safety of your children is very important to us, therefore we would ask that you act responsibly with hot drinks, and refrain from walking around with them whilst children are playing.

To cut down the risks we ask that you keep your hot drink with you and sit at the table provided.

If you need to put your drinks down please ensure that you place them out of reach of the children.

We encourage the washing of children’s hands before refreshments, and after messy activities. Any accidents that occur are recorded, and a first aid box is located in the immediate vicinity, the contents of which can be administered by parents. There is also a first-aider available during the session.

In the event of fire, please evacuate the building via the nearest fire exit, and assemble in the car park.

Please make sure fire exits are kept clear at all times. Pushchairs and buggies must be kept well away from the exits.

Sickness

If you or your child is unwell, has an infectious disease, temperature, sickness or diarrhoea we would be grateful if you could avoid attending the session for at least 48 hours after the symptoms have cleared.
